BRENNAN TURNER has completed Dundee Stars’ imports quota after becoming the latest signing for the Tayside club.

The Canadian arrives with a wealth of experience from the ECHL and is a former team-mate of another new Stars’ signing, Jarrett Konkle.

Dundee coach Dan Ceman couldn’t speak highly enough of his new acquisition and predicted big things from the new defenceman.

Turner said: “Brendan is going to be huge for us and has the ability to become one of the best two-way defenceman in the league this season.

“He has been a top shutdown defenceman in the ECHL over the last three years and takes immense pride in his defensive play.  He also moves the puck around very well.

Turner could be set to face another old team-mate, Matt Siddall, who recently made the move toScotlandto join Fife Flyers in his first Stars match.

But he joins Konkle as well as former Braehead Clan defenceman Steven Chalmers on the Stars roster for the new season as the Tayside club flexed their recruitment muscles.

Both players played for Gwinnett Gladiators for a season back in 2008 and would this time lock horns in opposing teams.

Turner himself though is looking forward toScotlandand said: “Dundeeand the Elite League seems the right fit for me and I can’t wait to arriving at the end of August.

“I’m hoping to build on the what the team achieved last year and in speaking with coach Ceman and Jarrett, I was convinced it was the right move.”
